Mary Ellen Guy founded Lemark Kennel in 1976, first breeding and showing Shetland Sheepdogs. In 1993, she acquired her first Berner, Ch. Merrimac Lemark First Lady, who became the foundation bitch for Lemark Bernese Mountain Dogs.

All Lemark Berners are AKC (www.akc.org) registered and only those who have achieved the title of AKC champion and who have health clearances are used for breeding. Click here to view the Lemark photo album.

Mary Ellen subscribes to the Code of Conduct of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, is a member and past board member of the BMDCA and is a member of the Chattahoochee Valley Bernese Mountain Dog Club. She is also a member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association, the Ochlockonee River Kennel Club, and the Birmingham Kennel Club.
